- Europe and Eurasia March 13, 2018 Latvia American Councils Latvia opened its doors in the capital city of Riga in 2015. Set on the Baltic Sea at the mouth of the River Daugava, Riga is home to nearly 700,000 individuals (one-third of Latvia's population). It is also the largest city of the Baltic states. Considered a cultural center due to its many museums and concert halls, Riga is also known for its wooden buildings, art nouveau architecture, and medieval Old Town.

In the ensuing years, AC Kosova has administered and supported international scholarships for hundreds of educators and other professionals, as well as graduate, college, and high school students.

Our office works closely with the US Embassy in Tallinn, EducationUSA offices in Tartu and Tallinn, the Ministry of Education, American Corners, and local community organizations, schools, and associations across Estonia.

Located in Old Town, Vilnius, this office has developed into a regional hub for educational activities in Belarus and the Baltic states, particularly as the FLEX program has expanded to include Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia.
