- Africa and the Middle East March 13, 2018 Senegal While American Councils has worked with local partners in Senegal since 2007, AC Senegal officially opened its doors in Dakar in 2015. The capital city of Dakar is located on the Atlantic Coast and is home to nearly 3 million residents in the metropolitan area.
- East Asia and the Pacific March 13, 2018 Mongolia AC Mongolia opened in 2017 in conjunction with the 30th anniversary of the establishment of U.S.-Mongolia diplomatic relations. The office is located in the capital city of Ulaanbaatar, which is home to half of Mongolia's population and considered an epicenter of cultural, industrial, and financial activity.
- Europe and Eurasia March 13, 2018 Latvia American Councils Latvia opened its doors in the capital city of Riga in 2015. Set on the Baltic Sea at the mouth of the River Daugava, Riga is home to nearly 700,000 individuals (one-third of Latvia's population). It is also the largest city of the Baltic states. Considered a cultural center due to its many museums and concert halls, Riga is also known for its wooden buildings, art nouveau architecture, and medieval Old Town.
- March 13, 2018 Romania AC Romania is in Bucharest, a vibrant and colorful city situated on the banks of the Dambovita River. In the period between the two World Wars, the city's elegant architecture and the sophistication of its elite earned Bucharest the nickname of "Little Paris.” According to the 2022 census, 2,162,281 inhabitants live only within the city limits. Bucharest is the sixth-largest city in the European Union by population within city limits.

In the ensuing years, AC Kosova has administered and supported international scholarships for hundreds of educators and other professionals, as well as graduate, college, and high school students.

- South and Central Asia March 13, 2018 Turkmenistan American Councils has operated in Turkmenistan nearly since the country’s independence. Legally, we are an extension of the U.S. Embassy under the 1993 Foreign Assistance Agreement between the U.S. and Turkmenistan. This legal status only allows us to implement U.S. government programs in-country and only those viewed as mutually agreed upon by both governments.
