Russian Heritage Speakers Program

This study abroad program is designed to address the unique challenges faced by those who grew up speaking Russian in the US. 

Customized to the needs of each participant, the Russian Heritage Speakers program serves students who grew up speaking Russian at home, or with family, that wish to strengthen their language skills.

This study abroad program focuses on Russian language skills, including grammar, conversation, and phonetics. Participants receive a minimum of 12 hours per week of in-class contact hours in Almaty (Kazakhstan), Chisinau (Moldova), and Yerevan, (Armenia).

Program features include homestays, weekly excursions, regional travel, conversation partners, and a wide range of opportunities to pursue hobbies and personal interests in a Russian-speaking context.

Open to undergraduates, graduates, and professionals; must be a heritage speaker of Russian
