Language Research - Scholarly Articles, Journals, and Other Publications

Founded by academics in 1974, American Councils for International Education continues to approach each program and initiative first and foremost as educators. We find ourselves asking: What are the learning outcomes and how can we best measure or capture impact? What model of program or effort is likely to yield the best results? Our research staff contribute to academic and scholarly journals on language immersion, second-language acquisition in adults, the impact of international exchange, dual-language immersion (DLI) instruction in K-12, foreign language enrollments in the United States, and related topics.
