Faculty Enrichment Program (FEP)

American Councils for International Education provides university instructors from Uzbekistan with professional development through a four-month academic enrichment program in the United States.

The Faculty Enrichment Program (FEP) is a visiting scholar program that was launched in Uzbekistan to enhance the pedagogical skills and professional disciplinary expertise of faculty members. While on the FEP, fellows will engage in curriculum development, explore alternative teaching methodologies, expand their knowledge in their fields of study, and gather new teaching materials and resources.

Throughout their stay in the United States, fellows observe courses, attend academic conferences, and work closely with faculty mentors from U.S. host institutions of higher education. Fellows may be invited to present a lecture or co-teach classes at their host institution. Through structured opportunities to engage with students and faculty both in and outside the classroom, fellows will significantly enhance their understanding of the U.S. higher education system and contribute to mutual understanding, educational ties, and professional networks between the U.S. and Uzbekistan.

The Faculty Enrichment Program is sponsored by the U.S. Embassy in Tashkent. American Councils has administered FEP for Uzbekistan since 2019.
