YSEL

Youth Solidarity and English Language Ethiopia

High school students across Ethiopia join together for a month of learning.

The Youth Solidarity and English Language (YSEL) program in Ethiopia is a one-month program that brings 44 high school age students together for a month of learning. The program focuses on improvement of English language skills, developing leadership, and promoting solidarity among youth from the diverse regions of Ethiopia.

YSEL is fully funded by the US Embassy in Addis Ababa and administered by American Councils. Eligible students may apply by application and, if selected, will be invited for an interview. Finalists selected for the program spend one month with other students in a summer camp setting, with native English speaking teachers selected from Peace Corps volunteers presently serving in Ethiopia.
