American Councils Welcomes Kyrgyz Delegation

American Councils President Dr. Dan E. Davidson welcomed a delegation from the Kyrgyz Republic this past week.

American Councils President Dr. Dan E. Davidson welcomed a delegation from the Kyrgyz Republic this past week. The delegation included representatives from the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic to the US and Canada, along with members of the Kyrgyz Parliament's Foreign Affairs Committee.

Group discussions focused around the current needs in the Kyrgyz higher education system in addition to American Councils' long history of work in educational development and exchange programs in Kyrgyzstan.

The Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to the United States and Canada, His Excellency Kadyr M. Toktogulov, joined the delegation for the meeting with American Councils. A graduate of the American University of Central Asia (AUCA), Ambassador Toktogulov is a strong advocate for educational and cultural exchange, and highly supportive of American Councils' work and partnership with the US-Central Asia Foundation.

American Councils was pleased to host the meeting and looks forward to continuing to work with Ambassador Toktogulov and the delegation members on educational collaboration between the US and Kyrgyzstan.
