The Research Division conducts grant-funded and contract research projects in the fields of international education, study abroad, standardized testing and foreign language study. This division is also responsible for all evaluation and assessment of American Councils’ programs. We periodically post findings of general interest. With funds from the U.S. Department of State (Title VIII), U.S. Department of Education (Fulbright Hays), and the National Endowment for the Humanities, American Councils administers several major grants for independent, overseas research in the humanities and social sciences as well as language training. In recent years, American Councils scholars have conducted independent research in Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Kyrgyzstan, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Ukraine.
