• US Citizenship
• A BA or MA degree
• Have at least three years experience and be employed full-time teaching English, Math or Science at the high school level
• Attend the Washington, DC orientation and complete the full program in New Delhi, India
The 2010 India Summer Educational Seminar for Teachers of English, Math or Science is approximately five weeks in length. US teachers will participate in a pre-departure orientation program in Washington, DC; attend an in-country orientation in New Delhi, complete the full program, and participate in the virtual program debrief.
All travel and program expenses are supported by American Councils, through its grant with the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, US Department of State.

The 2010 India Summer Teacher Program provides an opportunity for US teachers of English, math and science to collaborate and teach with an Indian counterpart for approximately four weeks. Grantees will be assigned to schools in New Delhi, where the medium of instruction is English, and will team-teach with their Indian counterpart in their subject area.
Strong candidates will demonstrate the willingness and ability to sensitively bridge cultural differences and should be willing to engage in school responsibilities and to make presentations at their host schools and other venues. Applicants should be creative, self-reliant, and able to maintain excellent relationships with faculty, staff, and students. Candidates should have a sincere interest in learning from the experience of others and sharing their own best practices.
