Summer in Russia's Golden Ring (SRGR)

High school students 14-18 years of age who have had at least one year (or equivalent) of Russian language.

Golden Ring participants travel to Russia for four weeks during the summer to attend intensive Russian language and area studies classes at the KORA Institute in Vladimir, Russia. The classes at KORA are conducted by Russian faculty experienced with teaching American students and include grammar, conversation, phonetics, history, literature, and music and dance. Upon arrival in Vladimir, students are given a language proficiency exam, which will determine in which class they are placed. Students will live with host families and participate in cultural excursions around the cities of Russia’s historic Golden Ring. Upon conclusion of the academic program, the students will have a five-day cultural tour of Moscow and St. Petersburg before returning to the U.S. The program fee includes international and domestic Russian transportation, pre-departure orientation in Washington, D.C., health and accident insurance, visas, host family placement, meals, language study, and excursions. The fee does not include transportation to/from Washington, D.C. or spending money.
