Summer English Language Program (SELP)
Eligibility:
Qualified individual students and school groups; students must be 13-19 years old, enrolled in a high school in Eurasia, qualify for a U.S. visa, and have minimum functional proficiency in English
Length:
Two to six weeks; spring and fall sessions also available in some programs
Price:
$1,600 - $7,200, depending on program location and type (amount does not include airfare)
The Summer English Language Program allows qualified students ages 13-19 the opportunity to spend two to six weeks learning English with students from other countries. American Councils has partnered with other U.S.-based organizations to provide this unique cross-cultural experience.
Students can choose among five different providers and up to 15 types of programs. Depending on the program, students live in dormitories or with host families. All programs feature formal language instruction, as well as a cultural program with local excursions. Nearly all programs allow applications from teachers with organized school groups. Discounts usually apply to larger groups.
