One academic year (August to June)
Fully Funded. All expenses—including international travel, program costs and fees, and a monthly stipend for students—are covered.
The A-SMYLE, FLEX, and KL-YES programs are funded by the United States Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.
ExCEL, initiated by the U.S. Embassy in Lithuania, is funded by a combination of grants from the United States Department of State and private donations.
Students on the A-SMYLE, ExCEL, FLEX, and Kennedy-Lugar YES programs compete for an opportunity to spend one academic year in the United States educating Americans about their home countries, building increased mutual understanding between the U.S. and their countries, and developing leadership skills and civic responsibility.
