American Councils and NCEEER to Collaborate More Closely in Postdoctoral Research

Washington, D.C., May 15, 2012 –– American Councils for International Education announced a new strategic partnership with the National Council for Eurasian and East European Research (NCEEER). In a new collaborative agreement between the two organizations, Dr. David Patton, a Vice President at American Councils, has been formally appointed as the new President of NCEEER, while continuing in his current role at American Councils.

U.S. Embassy Representative Visits the YSEL Program in India

From February 27 to 28, 2012, Joelle Uzarskii, the Regional English Language Officer at the U.S. Embassy in Delhi visited the Youth Solidarity and English Language (YSEL) program's camp in Jalandhar, Punjab. After reading about the success of previous YSEL camps, Uzarskii paid a visit to the camp in northern India to witness the groundbreaking program for herself.

First Serbian Open World Delegation Visits the U.S.

From February 15 to 26, a Serbian Open World delegation visited the U.S. for the first time to conduct a professional exchange in higher education, museum management, and non-profit management. For many of the 20 participants, the visit marked their first, direct exposure to U.S. procedures and best practices in their respective fields. In cooperation with the U.S. Embassy in Serbia, American Councils for International Education's Belgrade office administered the tour.
