Kennedy-Lugar YES Abroad program is now accepting applications

Applications are now available for the Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange and Study (YES) Abroad program, an international student exchange program for American high school students.

Eligible students ( U.S. citizens ages 15 to 18.5) win merit-based scholarships to study in one of 11 countries while living with a host family.

Countries include Bosnia-Herzegovina, Egypt, Ghana, India, Indonesia, Mali, Malaysia, Morocco, Oman, Thailand and Turkey.

The YES Abroad program is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Education and Cultural Affairs. Applications must be completed online by January 11, 2012. For more information and to apply, go to .www.yesprograms.org/yesabroad
