Educational Seminars: Exchanges for Teachers and Principals

01/12/10

The Educational Seminars program invites educators from around the country to apply for fully-funded, short-term exchanges with Argentina, Brazil, and Mexico!

The Educational Seminars program is fully funded through grants from the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA), Department of State. The exchanges are from 2 to 3 weeks in duration and take place during the summer and focus on sharing best practices and professional development.

The deadline to apply is March 31, 2010.

The Argentina, Brazil and Mexico programs are two-way exchanges for principals only. Principals travel to visit their counterpart in these countries for 2 to 3 weeks in the summer and then host their international counterpart for 2 to 3 weeks during the U.S. school year.

The Jordan program is for principals and is a one-way hosting-only opportunity to collaborate with a Jordanian counterpart for about 2 weeks.

The Uruguay program is for teachers and principals (requires Spanish language ability) and includes two components. The March 12 deadline is for the one-way exchange component going to Uruguay. If you are interested in hosting a Uruguayan educator, you may apply to host next school year.

Other programs for teachers and principals include exchanges with: Greece, India, Italy and Thailand. The 2010 deadlines have passed for these programs, so please visit our website for more information and please apply for next year.
