JFDP Alumna Featured on Public Radio Program

Gulnoro Mirzovafoeva (JFDP 2006-2007, Linguistics) was featured in the August 11, 2008 edition of Public Radio International's (PRI) "The World," which describes her involvement in a University of Kentucky (UKY) linguistics project on the endangered Shughni language of Tajikistan. Linguistics faculty at UKY began this project as a direct result of hosting Gulnoro for her Junior Faculty Development Program (JFDP) Fellowship in spring 2007.

Kosovo’s Dukagjini Group Presents KAEF with Major Scholarship Gift

American Councils for International Education: ACTR/ACCELS is pleased to announce the presentation of a major gift from the Kosovo-based Dukagjini Group for its Kosovo American Education Fund (KAEF). Three affiliates of Dukagjini Group ― Dukagjini Corporation, Peja Beer, and Dukagjini Insurance ― are the primary donors, contributing 160,000 EUR over a period of two years to the program (approximately $256,000 USD). Peja Beer has pledged 80,000 EUR, and Djukagjini Group, 80,000. Ekrem Lluka, president of Dukagjini Corporation, is a leader in the Kosovo community, and this special funding commitment to support the country’s development of intellectual capital will help to ensure Kosovo’s vibrant economic future.
