American Councils for International Education is establishing a new, alumni-directed project called “The Generation FLEX Russia Alumni Fund.” This Fund will support the continued growth and success of the first generation of talented leaders from Russia who had the opportunity to take part in the FLEX program.

The Fund will award grants for alumni to participate in conferences, seminars, online training programs, or other professional development activities, as well as supporting social projects in alumni’s home communities. The Fund will provide a needed supplement to the amount of grant support provided by the U.S. State Department, thereby strengthening the alumni community as a whole.
The Fund will help alumni because: younger alumni will gain access to professional development opportunities to upgrade their skills; their increased skills will give them access to better jobs; and, as a result, all alumni will benefit from having a stronger alumni network, with more alumni in better positions throughout the country.
The Fund will help communities because it will support meaningful community projects designed and implemented by alumni.
