Teachers of Critical Languages Program Mentor Biographies

Meera Patel (Mentor Teacher)

Meera Patel is originally from Woodbury, Minnesota. She received her degrees in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) from University of Wisconsin at River Falls (UWRF), St. Thomas. Ms. Patel has been working as an ECSE Teacher in preschool now for the past two years. She began teaching because she enjoys working with children and their families, as well as watching children progress in their development. Ms. Patel is the President of the Teacher’s Society at UWRF and she is Treasurer for the organization Hunger and Homelessness. In spring 2008, she gained experience abroad teaching primary school children, grades 1-3, in Manchester, England. She enjoys reading, working in her classroom, watching Indian movies, playing the harmonium, and staying active.

She was the mentor teacher for Ahmad Eleraky during the 2010-2011 academic year.
