Teachers of Critical Languages Program: TCLP

we need to follow the example of Americ

While contemplating the situation in Egypt and relating it to the cultural aspect that is part and parcel of the TCLP teachers' program,I couldn't resist the idea of an urgent need to follow the example of the democracy in the United States. Our dreams are coming true now we can have real elections that enables us to vote for the person we need for the next stage. Besides, I have also learnt that we would rather look at the program that the candidate will offer to us rather than being blinded by his personal appeal. We need to know that the president to come has a solid plan based on understanding of the current situation. One more thing demonstrating and protesting is a legal right conditional to respecting public utilities and without doing harm to the economy. We need to look into this things. I advise my colleagues to attend the neutralization of a non American citizen to be an American .I attended it and remembered every word when this person was given an envelop of his rights and was told that many people sacrificed their lives for those rights and was kindly asked to take care of it . The man asked him if he had 10 dollars to go and buy a flag and put it on top of his house. We need to do this things and understand the value of the gains of our revolution and protect them.

The Return of a different Spring

The Spring I am experiencing in Idaho now represents my internal Spring. The new leaves on the trees and the beautiful flowers represents for me the rebirth of a new modified version of myself . I have become more able than ever to understand things. The blurred vision has gone with its prejudices and been replaced by open mindedness . I feel that after this wonderful experience I should honor the people who helped me in my difficult journey across cultures, times, and places.
Mrs Andrew ,the Admin at Renaissance High school taught me how school administration should be. She taught me directly by answering my questions and exposing me to situations where i can form opinions. She made me feel like a staff member . The first lesson is that the Admin is not being bossy but being a leader. The concept of leader ship doesn't stem from the job title but from the qualities of a leader. The second lesson is " listen to to your staff" The third lesson" Be part of the solution and not part of the problem. She represents a unique atmosphere of friendship among all staff member.

Gena Marker . She is a remarkable Mentor . She took me step by step until I was able to adapt to my new life in Idaho, not to mention the hospitality I had in her home and her very kind husband Mr Bryan . When I went to her house I was worried about the idea of living with a dog. Now ,I like Woolly very much. Gena,is understanding and very patient and she has always tried to look at me from the perspective of culture to construe my behavior which sometimes looked weird to her from her cultural perspective, She opened many opportunities in front of me to understand American culture. She gave me a lot of time and help.I want to say " Thank you Gena.
Mr Mattox my co-teacher . I'd like to thank him and express my indebtedness to everything I have learned from him and the bright ideas he exposed me to. In the beginning ,I thought I know everything and imagined that teaching in a school in a totally different culture is the same as teaching in my country. I took a lot of his time . I want to thank him for helping me develop professionally and for being a true friend that I am proud of. In the beginning , After , I watched some video of my performance when I first came to my school and compared them with recent videos ,I discovered how much I benefited from him.
I also owe a lot to the Family of Mrs Bernadette and her wonderful husband Mr JD and their children . This family is my love here in Meridian. With them I felt the warmth of friendship. On top of that, I like my American students very much and so proud of them. They are so polite and kind to me .They have always treated me with respect and made my time here enjoyable. I have always felt great pleasure when I teach them. Finally . Isn't this spring a wonderful one???

Americans in hard times

I was really happy when my community ,school faculty , students and students parents supported me during the revolution in Egypt. Families from my district contacted me to ask about my family. My students designed a banner in support of me. Some students parents visited me at home with their children. The teachers celebrated the event at school!!!!
What wonderful people these people are.
In response I designed another banner " I love Americans"

After the warmth of Christmass has melted the snow in Idaho

I have been so fortunate to find answers to a lot of my questions when I was reading an American novel , watching a movie or even a Tom and Jerry, I used to see people singing Christmas songs and snow falling outside the windows and a big Turkey on the table. All this was meaningless to me at the time until I had this experience with American families that made things clear to me. Christmas is not just the Christmas tree or the turkey it is the warmth of family reunions and mutual visits. The concept of Santa bringing joy and children waiting for him to bring happiness. It is the concept of joy and happiness.
The warmth of Christmas completed when Santa brought Stephanie to Meridian to attend my classes and visit my school . It was a a reunion with my TCLP family . I really want to thank those people who do every little they can to have us achieve the most success in our experience and bringing home the bacon .
I wish happiness to the TCLP staff and say to them keep the good work.

Teaching Arabic Is fun

I enjoy teaching my language and culture . I can't describe how happy I am when a student makes a sentence in Arabic. I also like students as if they were my children. Remember when you watch your child's language growing everyday in front of you!!!. How amazing. I am very successful with my students. I also believe we should make difference as native speakers in teaching our language. Also teach my students that learning has a responsibility and commitment and it is not always fun. Remember the saying " from suffering comes wisdom! But little suffering. The best thing is that I find American students responding very well. I also explain to them my culture so they do not call me Ahmed but they call me Ustaz Ahmed. When they enter the class they Greet me in Arabic as part of our culture. It is not our role to make student happy by things that are not related to the language but I believe that we should relate everything to specific educational goals.
Best of luck in your mission.
