Eligibility:
• US citizen
• Have not previously participated in LTMS, 3TP, TEA, or PiE programs
• All current secondary teachers (6-12) of the following subjects:
-English, EFL, and related subjects
-History, civics, political science, and related subjects
-Mathematics of all fields (algebra, pre-calculus, geometry, etc.)
-Science of all fields (biology, environmental science, chemistry, etc)
-Informational Technology
Teachers selected to participate on the exchange will:
• Join teachers from Russia in a three-day cross-cultural conference hosted by a U.S. university in October 2009 (English, EFL, history, social studies) OR February 2010 (math, science, information technology).
• Travel to Russia for two to three weeks in March 2010.
• Have access to grant opportunities available only to program alumni to support joint-classroom projects, the development of methodological workshops, or the sharing of international experiences through program participation.

Leah Udwin has been a History teacher in Holland Hall High School in Tulsa, OK for the past 10 years. She received her BA in History from the University of California, Berkley, and her Master’s degree in Teaching English as a Foreign Language from San Francisco University. Among her many memberships are membership in the Phi Beta Kappa Society, and among her many honors are the Teacher Exchange Founder – Holland Hall/Beijing School.
Cheronda Cooper has been an English Literature teacher in Peabody Magnet High School in Alexandria, VA for the past fourteen years. She received her BA in English from Lousiana State University and her Master’s degree in Curriculum and Technology from the University of Phoenix. Among her many memberships are the Rapides Association of Educators, and among her many honors are the Milken Family Educator Award.
In October 2008, the cohort of 10 Russian teachers of math, science, and Informational Technology participated in a comprehensive and integrated professional development program at the University of Montana in Missoula. Over their three-week program, the teachers participated in numerous workshops and seminars, toured local secondary schools, conducted field research, developed a Summer Workshop, attended a US-Russia Joint Teacher Conference, and were profiled in the local newspaper.
